Types of Procedures

Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)

Squamous Cell Carcinoma is one of the most common types of skin cancer, typically found on sun-exposed areas such as the face, scalp, neck, and hands. It often presents as a thickened, scaly patch or a non-healing sore. While SCC is treatable, it can grow rapidly and may spread (metastasize) to nearby lymph nodes or distant areas if left untreated. Surgical excision, including wide local excision surgery is a widely accepted method of managing SCC. These techniques aim to remove the cancer with clear margins while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. The choice of treatment is tailored to the lesion’s size, location, and patient factors.
